That looks like lots of fun. I shot one match once that used scaffolding. The shooting position was 3 stories up and was about 18x48 inches, so you had to squeeze yourself onto it. If you either couldn't make it to the top, or if you choose to shoot from a lower platform, every lower platform cost you possible points. It was lots of fun, but climbing up 3 stories of scaffolding with all your rifle, ammo, gear, will really have you sucking wind if you do it within the time limit.
Anything like that presents some really interesting problems.

I'm still looking into a setting up a match (maybe with a uspsa feel to it) would like your input on ranges and target sizes.

Thanks for another great event, Scott,... You really know how to organize a great COF,... This was easily the most frustrating event I've ever taken part in as everything from my dope sheet (wrong for the conditions), zero (way off due to damn Premier locking (HAH!) knob), and my eye-sight (blurry and stinging from spray-on sun-screen,... don't recommend it) rendered my shooting totally worthless,... Excuses aside, it was fun to meet some great folks and as usual, everything OUT of my control went smoothly

Thanks for another great event, Scott,... You really know how to organize a great COF,... I need some opinions here... I really don't feel a "connection" with my TRG. It shoots amazingly well, and as I got a bit more comfortable shooting it over the weekend I did pretty well with it on day 2 of TSI's match, but for some reason I just think I prefer the feel of a rifle with a traditional stock. It's one of those intangible things. Have you guys ever found yourselves feeling that way towards a rifle that is a great rifle, but you just can't love it?

It shoots amazingly well, and as I got a bit more comfortable shooting it over the weekend I did pretty well with it on day 2 of TSI's match, but for some reason I just think I prefer the feel of a rifle with a traditional stock. Chad, thanks for being so thoughtful about the helmet issue, I was really concerned it was going to mess up what little hair I have left. Craig, spend some more time behind that stock, I think most will agree its a really ergonomic friendly stock, but it just takes a little time getting used to it.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I spent lots of time with the various Steyer Augs, and never did warm up to them. I think it is because I have so much time on rifles like AR-15's, M1A's, Garands and the like that I just couldn't get to where I liked the rifle's ergonomics.
There was nothing wrong with either my short black Aug, or my longer Green one. I even ordered the crosshair reticle. They shot just fine, were amazingly reliable, even in matches where I was required to roll through the sand 3X with the rifle at my chest prior to starting the stage. And what was weird was that they always returned exactly to zero even after I removed the barrel for cleaning....not just close, but perfectly on zero every damned time.
I eventually sold them all (3 of 'em) and have stayed with the AR15 and other platforms that I'm used to.
The Augs were fine rifles, just not for me.
I have a TRG22, and it is one of the rifles I just love. For me, it is one of the easiest rifles I have to shoot well. I did find that the height of the cheekpiece makes a HUGE difference in how well the rifle shoots for others.
I let a Ranger designated marksman shoot my TRG. He is a fabulous shot...but he couldn't shoot my TRG worth a damn until we raised up the cheekpiece about a quarter of an inch. Then it shot great for him, and he loves the rifle. That may be an issue for you to consider.

You realize that you are getting TSI syndrome. That is such a nice rifle I hope you think about it again before you decide to sell it.

hey i resemble that remark, only issue is i absolutely love my trg's and after all the damn rifles i have owned it is by far my favorite. Not gonna go crazy with any bold statements about never selling, but i am not planning on it. Only thing that i still have interest in trying is the trg folder one of these days.

Hey MG. Look into the folding stock before you sell. It looks like a more traditional pistol grip with a lot of adjustments for LOP, & cheek height. Maybe you'll feel a better "connection" with that.

Apparently I have 1 of 22 GAP-10's that had a bad reamer used on it and the chamber as a result is too tight. Every time I had to eject a live round I would have to yank on the tac latch and it pulled the casing off dumping grain everywhere and leaving the bullet jammed in the chamber. Then I'd have to knock the bullet tip out with a rod and field strip it to clean out the grain. I ended up not even getting to shoot 2 stages and having problems completing a couple others. That compiled with the frustration of having to fix it 4x and clean it each time... well... lets just say my performance wasn't that great. Then when I called GAP they told me they knew about the problem and all I had to do was ship it back and they'd turn it around same day. After an awkward silence I had to ask if they were going to make me pay to ship it back which was followed by another awkward silence and them saying they could send me a call tag to ship back. The whole thing that annoys me is that if they knew there was an issue they could have sent some form of letter and/or email to the people that might have had an issue and then they should have right off the bat offered to have it shipped back on their dime. For $3K I should never have had to even ask. Not once did I ever hear an apology for the inconvenience either. It cost me well over $20 in ammo, the 8 hrs round trip of driving to a match that I spent 1/2 the time dealing with it, and then the cost of the shipping tube etc etc. A simple "Sorry about that..." would have helped. All this after I was even nice enough to send them back Badger Ordinance rings I never ordered or paid for that they sent me by mistake, and when they almost sent me a uni-mount for free I again did the right thing and reminded them I needed to pay for it still which at least they were good enough to give me a 10% discount and take off what it cost me to ship the rings back to them.
After everything I've read about their customer service I expected more I guess. Hopefully it will still have the same accuracy as before which I was very pleased with. I know shit happens and I'll get off the Waaambulance eventually lol...

Another reason I test fire all my builds before they leave the shop. It amazes that the larger shops don't do this.

At least GaPrecision admitted there was a problem.
I bought a DPMS LR308 that had a short throat. A gunsmith at the range verified the short throat, and even noted the throat retained the bullet while the powder in the pulled case went all over the action. You could see the lands and grooves in the bullets I knocked out of the throat.
The rifle was returned to DPMS who said there were feeding problems that they corrected, but the throat was fine. Fortunately, the same gunsmith was there to call BS on that...he noted that the throat no longer retained the bullets, and all the unusual pressure signs had disappeared.
The rifle shoots fine now, but I just don't trust a company that denies there is an issue, fixes it, and still won't admit to having cured a problem. Occasional problems happen, and as long as they are corrected, I'm OK with that. Although I would expect half as many problems with a $3,000 rifle as with a $1500 rifle. At least GA precision admits there was an issue... I couldn't get DPMS to admit that there was even a quality control issue.
If you make enough of anything, there will eventually be some kind of problem. Just man up and take care of it. That is simply being honorable. Expecting constant perfection isn't realistic, but expecting basic honesty isn't asking too much of any company. At least GA precision is honest about it. DPMS, not so much.
At least GaPrecision admitted there was a problem.
I bought a DPMS LR308 that had a short throat. A gunsmith at the range verified the short throat, and even noted the throat retained the bullet while the powder in the pulled case went all over the action. You could see the lands and grooves in the bullets I knocked out of the throat.
The rifle was returned to DPMS who said there were feeding problems that they corrected, but the throat was fine. Fortunately, the same gunsmith was there to call BS on that...he noted that the throat no longer retained the bullets, and all the unusual pressure signs had disappeared.

Hey Broker, that sucks. I hope we'll hear a good report on accuracy when you get the fixed rig back. Your first pics of groups were really impressive. I hope I can get my OBR to shoot as well as what your GAP was doing.

I agree about the honestly thing 100%. I just need to get over it and not expect more than everyone else. It happens and it's not like they did it with malicious intent. George makes great stuff and I have no doubts it will drive nails still.
And no Ryo they had no way of knowing who got the bad batch but it wouldn't have hurt to notify all in a quick general e-mail. It was a safety issue and anytime there's a safety issue you should notify your clients.
