^ yeah, heh, it behooves me when the winers don't just cancel. I mean you can go ahead and cancel this 1-6, go for a NF, Vortex, USO, Swarovski, Leopold or S&B. I don't know if NF or S&B have a 1-6 offering but if they do why would you not get one of those? Gee I Wonder why?

It's difficult for apologists to accept the truth. I've made it my small mission to keep things balanced here with regards to SWFA. Every time some one heaps on the praise, when it is not valid I will simply correct them. I am more than willing to admit they have products with both fantastic performance and a fantastic performance to dollar ratio as well. This does not mean they can do no wrong. It does not mean they are honest and forthcoming, it does not mean they are running a tight ship, it does not mean they have effectively chosen and managed their supply chain. My views have been strongly echoed by member after member here.

Credit where credit is due and criticism where criticism is due. As a paying customer and rule following forum member I will continue to voice my opinion and state facts.

.....everyone is entitled to their opinion and have the right to choose which company to purchase a product from. Having said that - If I was unhappy with a company's business practices , I certainly would not purchase something from them.I would simply pick up the phone and cancel my order.

Or, having a desire to have the product, I might stick it out with the company I am unhappy with, but exercise the right to express the opinion I am entitled to in letting others know on a public forum how unhappy I am with the customer service of said company.

This is old, but to clear this non issue up you have two #'s from SWFA.

The lower sequences some of us have posted, like 188xxx, are order confirmation #'s.

My order #4138xx IS <span style="font-style: italic">the</span> order #. My confirmation # is 188xxx.

yeah , the wait is a bummer but getting a 1-6X FFP illum scope for $600 (plan on selling 5-20X for $1k)- kinda eases the pain. Most other scopes in this class seem to be well over $1k & after being furloughed for 3 straight years & no decent pay raises in the last 8 years - I really appreciate the SWFA group buy. Now I hope SWFA puts out one hell of a scope

I hope so too. It's why I'm still all in. I think they will pull off a superior 1-6 worth well more than what we're giving for it. The stink is bad about that, but I hang in.

I called today, and according to the person over the phone, they know that it is inbound, they are just waiting for customs to clear everything, followed by a personal QC check before they ship. He used the words "Everyone knows that the day they come in, they will be working through the night to get them out as fast as possible"...

So take it for what its worth

Just had a thought just now. scope companies love to sell scopes to the govments. Govment heard about these on the cheap and went over us to buy our shipment. Happpened months ago so now we waiting for our builds. That's right, HS gonna use 'em 'gainst us cause day so goooood!! Yup....

How long does customs inspection take ? My company deals with customs on a regular basis and worst case is two weeks.

After reading back through all of the posts in this, I can see a pattern to the shuck and jive excuses - zero consistency.

I just sent an e-mail cancelling my order.

Good luck to those of you who wish to continue complimenting the emperor's clothes.

In my opinion, SWFA blew this deal and spent all their money on the new facility and can't afford to fund getting the scopes now, hoping for a really good Christmas season to help fund just enough to say we only got a few and let more trickle in as funds allow.

That's just my opinion, but I imagine many of you won't see a scope before spring (if then).

I'm going to spend a few bucks more and have a great scope and be shooting within the next several days.

I hate being jerked along and taken for granted. The occasional truthful communication would have kept my faith as strong as ever, now my opinion of SWFA is they just don't care or respect customers at all.

The waiting to be cleared through customs excuse is insulting to put it mildly. Why not just say a unicorn ate them and they're waiting for the scopes to come out it's ass... same result, but then, some would start trying to convince the rest of us how long it takes a unicorn to shit.

I canceled my order too.

I was really hoping to get my hands on both scopes, seeing as how so many good things are said about them. But I just can't support this company. I'll look elsewhere for my glass.

Much more needed humor! Sorry you had to wait all this time and then finally cancel. Good thing we all can make our own calls on this. Curious to know what your alternate product decision is.

Was just looking at this thread. Yeah, I'm that freaking bored. Kabul sucks. Anyway, my concern is that this thread has been here for quite some time and SWFA hasn't responded to it since it's inception. The least they could do is respond here and give some sort of excuse/validation. Just my two cents.

Since they only charge folks when products ship (some exceptions here and there) this really can't be the case. Two points though. First, I detected some sarcasm is this comment (clearly the comments about the unicorn in the same post were in the humor/sarcasm domain). Secondly, I think the poster was simply trying to show a problem with their priorities. The new facility was a high priority and it is done (AFAIK), getting these scopes done, along with good vendor selection and having a firm disposition with their suppliers on the issues of timeliness has very obviously been a much lower priority for SWFA.

Yes it would. Anybody here seen the Vortex Razor HD 1-6 x 24. Seriously considering this as an alternative and telling SWFA to keep their imaginary scope. Seriously folks, I worked for U. S. Customs for 13 years and unless there is a problem (ie. prohibited item, misclassification, failure to pay duty, etc.) it doesn't take this long to clear Customs. Defenders of SWFA save your breath. They may offer a great product, but I can't tolerate the dishonesty. If I do stick it out, this will absolutely be my last purchase from SWFA. I can handle the delay, but good paying customers don't deserve poor communication and half-baked excuses.

I might pick up a 1-6, not sure yet. Personally I think I would be balls-fan-fuckentastic if they'd put the 1-6 reticle in the 3-9 minus the circle thing. Then give me a parallax adjustment with the exact same low profile turrets. Boom, did I just come up with the perfect SPR scope that has yet to be invented. Yes, yes did.

^^ Vortex 1-6, meh, I researched that one. Reporting fine glass, it's lighter, greater field if view, reportedly built like tank & owners love it. $1400ish? Meh, boring reticle in SFP with just the tiny center dot illumination. I'm sure it's a fine scope but it's just not the one I fell for. If SS 1-6 wasn't coming I would just keep my USO SN3 1.5-6, MOA/MOA, JNG, FFP, capped turrets.

I'll sell you the SN3, bro, perfect glass & body & in a LaRue SPR 1.5 QD mount.

So . . . . For what its worth, I just got off the phone with skylar of SWFA. I called asking about 5-20 shipments/availability. I made it clear I was not worried about the 1-6. First response was "Any day now". So I asked a couple other questions about additions to my order. Honestly he didnt seem to interested in me. I understand they probably receive hundreds of calls weekly about this but thats how I felt. So I pressed the matter of 5-20s as its been a long time now. He said that they didnt have any information, and were unable to tell me how many 5-20 orders were still ahead of me. So I tried to ask in a different way. I said do you think there is any chance of me seeing it before 2013 ? Response "the 1-6 ?". No the 5-20 . Skylar "Oh, I don't see why not they. The shipments arrive together." So I ask, oh so you guys are getting 5-20s and 1-6s in the same shipment? Skylar "Yep". Well I didnt order really early on are you expecting a large volumne to be able to fill most orders. Skylar "yep".


For what its worth. I know alot of you guys want updates. So if thats not as clear as mud . . . It would sure be nice to get these two scopes in the 2012 year. .

Just a heads up - Got an email 2nite from SWFA stating that the 1-6X is backordered & will be shipped as soon as they come in . The wait is tuff but tell me where you can find a 1-6X FFP for $600 (plan to sell 5-20X for $1K). Until then Im going to keep shooting with these Diamond Head Iron sights - I need the practice.

Just sold my 5-20x50. God only know what CS they have after the sale...Especially if so many people are having this much issue BEFORE.

In all honesty, SWFA customer service after the sale is excellent. I see they are taking a hit around here because the group buy scopes aren't here and people ordered them so long ago, but when the scopes do get here, SWFA will provide good CS after the sale just like they always have.

SWFA already offered a full refund to anyone who doesn't want to wait any more. Even for customers who have already used their 5-20x. I don't see how they could do any better than that. I noticed that I didn't see anyone take them up on that offer. It looks to me like the group buy price was good enough that people want to wait for the 1-6x to get here.

Based on the quality of the SS 1-4, I'd guess that the SS 1-6 would hold up against any comparable offering that was twice the retail price of $1000. Seems like some people are just upset because they were hoping to net one for $600 by dumping 5-20s. Yeah, I wish they had them out now too because I might have to put something else on for a while. But consider too that no other optics maker or seller is even willing to stick their necks out to make these kind of deals available.

This.... But why not just build a whole new scope? Keep moving forward, keep improving and innovate. I would like to see them do a SS 1.5-8x28 HD mil/mil illuminated with side focus 30mm. Turret caps with the thread protecters too, I like that 1-6 feature.
And of course do another innovative reticule design. Yes and do duel focal plane, if not
FFP. $14/1500 could they do it for that? That's asking for a lot but that's what I really want. The other guys are just out if my reach.

$1450 in the group buy of it? I'd wait at least this long for that one

While I'm hopefully optimistic about getting a SWFA christmas present, I really doubt we'll see these before the end of Dec.

At this point, I'm purely in this for the $ savings, and since this optic has already missed 3 gun season and deer season, there's no point in NOT waiting the final month or two.

I can only hope the quality of the finished product phenomenal and worth the extra wait.
