Just because in our lifetime we haven't seen what I described happen ,doesn't mean what I stated is incorrect. Who ,my I ask is the Senate Pro tem ( spell) "sitting in for" ? Hint: The Vice President . And I should have added above , in my second post "One of His/Her duties are to preside over the Senate " Sir, is your Google foo broken today? A quick search " Vice President of United States" ,first thing that popped up was Wikipedia....... What I have stated is in the first paragraph. Disclaimer: I'm aware Wikipedia can be edited and is often bullshit. Shall I dig out the V book of my sixty year old World book Encyclopedia set to compare with Wikipedia ? They are at arms length beside my " thinkin chair " ie toilet. Maybe I will........in the morning, while I'm " thinkin ".
I've "lurked " here and been a member under NH4X for some time ,now go by this handle . I can say that there is not much that I can remember ,if any, that I disagree with your past posts ,maybe this is the first. However, I still stand by what I've posted in this thread .
Have a nice evening.
Oh , yeah.......McCarthy was right
Edit : "U V" book ,from World Book Encyclopedia . Page 281, paragraph four ...." The Vice President serves as the presiding officer of the United States Senate , and has the title of "President of the Senate " " The Constitution gives him no other official duty".
Today's civic lesson ,completed.
