Barney, best wishes amigo and sorry for your worries? When you do get over here and if you happened upon the badlands of Arizona make sure to give a shout out. There’s a fine beer here called a ‘Kilt Lifter’ that does a damn fine job of knocking down the trail dust and my treat.?

Thanks mate, you anywhere near Kingman? I did some work there for Contech a few years back.

Set up a factory for them to produce spirally wound steel reinforced plastic pipe, an Australian designed product. They ended up buying our company and made me redundant in 2011.

Ouch and damn. Australia also provided us with some damn fine cloth canopy designs specific to desert heat and thermal dynamics to keep the shaded areas ambient. A little more expensive but then you get what you pay for?

I would clean every gun twice if that's what it took to get him out with me ever time. He's learning how I do things so it's mostly watching for him while I clean. This is going to be his first time out with his 6.5-47. 120 amax at a little over 2900 kicks like a kitten with the can on. Headed to a friends farm that loves that my kids are into it since he raised 3 city slicker pussy. Being a former army ranger I think that's something he would have liked to have done different.

Soybeans are a bit too high but we're making a day of it! The 6.5-47 is still a bit much for him but the 223ai is putting a huge smile on his face!!
Beautiful setting. Looks like the weather stayed reasonably comfortable. It was sweltering here today. Looks like a great day for you both. Could you get out very far?

It is a pretty nice farm. When the sun came out of got pretty humid but it really was a perfect day. Only got out to 300. It was the first time for Buzz and I out there and the guy that invited us is just showing interesting in shooting for more than just hunting. The layout isn't that great for when crops are in shooting from. The location we were at. It's a 300 acre farm so we'll do some things different next time out.

Decided that Friday evening would be a nice time for a little outdoor fire get together.
Invited the neighbors over. Riley was with his biological dad, but they did bring Caroline and the two little ones.

No photos of Caroline. She was having a hard time with her feeding and she was pretty upset for a while. Momma finally got her settled down when it was getting dark and she seemed to enjoy herself.

I had a handful of bottle rockets left from our fireworks show earlier this summer, so we launched a few of them.

I was roasting the marshmallows for the girls because they didn't like getting too close to the fire.
I'm doing one for Maggie and Abby hands me a "stick" and says, "Do this one for me next!"
Not really paying full attention I take it from her with my free hand and begin to put it over the flames, when I notice this stick is pretty short and very uniform feeling.
She's skewered a marshmallow onto a live bottle rocket and handed me the business end.
So she's climbed onto the ATV, dug it out of the cargo basket and sneaked it back over to me without being noticed.

Maggie enjoys her first s'more.

Dad and I shared roasting duties. He didn't get a bottle rocket.

The cordless leaf blower is great for keeping the fire going when the wood's a little damp.

Slightly cooler and slightly drier air meant getting the pond banks cleaned up this morning.
Anyone know how to hack these new push mowers for more RPMs?

Tuck....I am astounded every time I see your pics of the pond and the spread. It's all beautiful. You could land a damn seaplane on that pond. Then, you mow all the way around the thing ? Good Lord, how long does that take ?:cool:.

During the summer that property is a daily chore rodeo unless I miss my guess?

It's not that big. 3 acres. It takes maybe 3 hours in decent weather. Longer when I have to chew the air before I inhale it.
When things are right I can mow the seven acres on the Ferris in about 2.5 to 3 hours.
