Spoiled... I don't know about that. You work...but you are lucky as hell,that's for sure. But that luck probably takes 10 or 12 hours a day to keep.

I shoot off the back patio... got a round loaded at lunch today to check fit and function of the new 284 shehane. I wish I had a backyard like @tnichols buy I have to drive to shoot more than a couple quick rounds for load testing...

The front of the follower looks like it's close to being cut with a chambering reamer, but I'm sure it's not. Dimensionally, it's pretty nice looking. Is it anything special, or a standard ?

I'll bet 4350 would be great as well. R19 has always been fantastic in calibers like that but temp sensitivity sucks.
4350 is a second choice for a lot of guys but 4831 is number one. There’s been a couple guys running rl16 lately too.

I’ve tried it that way before. Works good if the original hole fits the undersized hole saw. A big ass step drill bit would be sweet!
You probably have cut way more holes than I have, but have you ever tried Lenox hole saws ? They tend to be more expensive, but they have outlasted everything everything else I have ever used.
I do ALOT of metal work and anymore all I buy are carbide hole saws and even sawzall blades. They are the cats ass.
Do they hold up when hand drilling ? No cracking/breakage ? Obviously, sawzalls are for hand cutting, but per what you've said, they do seem to hold up.
Yeah they hold up well. Night and day difference with the cut. I just buy the carbides as the the regular ones fail.
I’ve never tried one of the carbide hole saws. I’d imagine they are as badass the the sawsall blade though. If you ever need to cut some steel with a sawsall, do yourself a favor and grab a diablo carbide blade!! Damn near as fast a plasma cutter!

Most important thing to figure out lolol.....
There are basically 2 different forums.....
The bear pit and Maggies is its' own forum within itself. What goes on there typically MUST stay there.
While the other sections of the forum are the more serious sections and protected from the Pit antics.
Secondly....
You will learn quickly as to who is the "go to" for certain questions, things, etc.
This forum is unlike the vast majority of them on the www, there are a lot of knowledgeable members with vast experiences in pretty much anything firearm related (And even non firearm related lol). There is not a firearm question that cannot be answered by members of this forum.
