Had the opportunity to get some new steel set out for the winter. Finally getting the “range” back in order. I love shooting new target placements, don’t know why, something different I guess. Laze it and kill it. Great conditions this morning with comfortable temps and an overcast. Tough wind though fishtailing on the nose. My 260 working at 760 yards.

And finally, I got home tonight and apparently the Misses had to use MY head after arriving home from work. I know, I didn’t say stow toothpaste and toothbrush properly, but she forgot something in there as well. Outside of folks like us, can you imagine what would go through a non gun owners mind finding this on their vanity?

What impresses me most about this is the fact that I know there are young children in the home, and that they have been properly instructed in the safe use and in the hands off of various firearms in and around the home. I grew up with loaded firearms in the home, secured only by good parenting. Never had a problem.

My gut sank as I read the first part of your post. “I” didn’t think of that angle when posting, because around here it’s “normal”. My kids (now 13 and 15 respectively) grew up around them. I can still hear my daughter saying, “Dad can you come here and move your stuff (guns and related kit)” because she needed something and they were in the way. That’s the way it was then and still is to this day. Miss Lori has to carry for work and I do typically because I can. It’s just a lifestyle that we’ve adapted to, and again, it’s normal...here. For the record, if ANYONE is invited over, I spend a fair amount of time policing up the place to insure they don’t have access to weapons, ammo, etc... The tools we enjoy in trained hands are useful and enjoyable. Allowing access of said equipment to the untrained is irresponsible.

The tree in my front yard yesterday when I got home from work yesterday evening.

I have some scarlet maples, whatever that is. The picture on the tag looked pretty and it's what home depot had. I'm not much of a maple aficionado either. But I would really like to have some wormy maple cabinets made one day.

Hogging the “View” tonight I know, but thought these were worthy. On the ground tonight walking out to leave Madison WI. Hate that town and most of its folks.

That's a great shot, man. It used to be something special to catch a sunset like that on "film". Nowadays "photographers" just snap a mediocre sunset and Photoshop the shit out of it.

The second photo at 8000ft is great too. Years ago I caught a flight from Jakarta to Dubai that timed out so that for at least an hour (I remember it as quite a bit longer) I had a fantastic view of a huge red sunset from FL350 or so.

A good day, spent ambling about Farmville with Mrs. T.

Stopped by Lowes to show her the new fridge I ordered. They had the Samsung with the Internet door, so I decided to leave behind a little warning to anyone considering making the same mistake we made on our last one.

Then off to lunch at Charley's. Always good.

Bought a new Amish made solid oak bed from Amish Originals. Went in just to look around, but they had a nice mission king sized that was half off because a miscommunication on a special order, so that's upstairs now awaiting the new mattress I ordered online when we got home.
We've had the same bed since we got married in 1978, so it was time for something new, and 10 year old sleep number has done all it came here to do.

Our beloved Katie in Nashville received her care package today too. We surprised her with a home studio and recording setup to help her get some of her work digitized and begin putting together her first demo album.

I am going to try not spend any money tomorrow.

That’s a great day Tucker, and I agree regarding the fridge. After 3 “high tech” fridges in 8 years, we’ve abandoned that crap. A fridge in my mind has one job, and that is to keep dead shit cold.

Thanks!

We killed a lot more beer and whiskey than critters, but I had a great trip. 3 ranches, 5 pigs, 2 javelina, 2 turkeys (Rio Grande, in season in in South Texas), 1 whitetail buck, and 1 big ass jackrabbit (with a 1911). Good to be home, but I had a hell of a time.

Work tomorrow is bound to suck in comparison.
