Found in the kitchen last night. My lovely Bride is having a craving. If you haven't tried Jackfruit, give it a go. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Looks scarily like durian, which, of all things, makes me burp. Going down is bad enough. Durian off the backboard is a nightmare.

The smell and the taste are poles apart.......

I'm not cutting my nose off in order to appreciate what is supposedly the sublime taste of durian.

I'm not afraid to try most new foods at least once. I'm not eating durian or anything durian-flavored ever again.

I tried them. This exact brand. For the love of God, don't be like Veer and search these out, let alone try it fresh. Durian is the only fruit that when ripe smells intensely like shit, dirty feet, and rotten meat ... all at once.

Durian is total Hell on Earth. Such a confusing Fruit. I remember my first experience with it very well, for two reasons. My Boss and I were on a month long business trip throughout Asia and were going to meet a perspective business partner in Indonesia. We're in a van and we see two people on like a moped get T-Boned and splayed out limp and skidding down the road. Horrific accident. A ways down the road we pull over to a fruit stand and there hangs some Durian. The rest is history. I'd advise most not to try and get that shit past your snout to enjoy it's wonderful taste. Jackfruit on the other hand is a whole different animal. Seriously. Give it a go. It's delish.

Hey Bud, I’ve never tried these and it doesn’t look like I ever will. Are you saying you have and that they “taste good?”

I spent three years based in Malaysia / Singapore, they do taste good but one taste was enough, the smell is absolutely indescribable. Durian were sold in all the markets but were not allowed on public transport.

Momma's home for a long weekend after months away up in Boston and Chicago. Cheapest flight home within an easy drive was into Gulfport. Right from the airport we had to find some fresh seafood and enjoy the 80* day on the water.

We found this great holdover from the pre-Casino days on a recommendation of of a friend. Nice dive of a seafood shack, sitting atop their own bait shop. They still run their own boats up to their dock. It was nice to find one of the old surviving family operations and enjoy a glorious afternoon on the sun gorging on fresh seafood.

The Forrest Gump references are great, and spot on. Winston Groom, the author, lives a few miles from me.

We hit Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island yesterday, guarding the mouth of Mobile Bay

Being an old grunt, after admiring the battlements, I had to find the kitchens (which were a bit too dark to get good pictures of, and the shitters:

A 10-holer, designed with a tunnel underneath allowing the tide to wash under it twice a day to flush it. That was high style and ingenuity in the early 19th century.

Tell us a bit more about the rifle and optic. I like the bubble level.
ALD Rifles build
Defiance Deviant Hunter action- right bolt left port
Hawk Hill sendero contour at 24" JEC brake
Masterpiece Arms Ba Lite chassis in Tungsten
Remington trigger tuned to 2# soon to be a Triggertech
Atlas bt46-lw17 bipod
March 3-24x42 FFP FML-1 reticle
Rifle has 45 rounds through it now.
Going to run another 30 or so through it and chrono to get the velocity to settle in.

Very nice!

Thanks Mike.
The camera never shows what the eye sees.
It's a nice basic pic, but the view through the Maui Jim's and Rebecca's Costas is so much better.
Spent five hours sitting in my chair staring west. Shoveled my face full of Grandma's chocolate chip cookies and fresh strawberries.
Not a bad day.

Meanwhile, a fishing buddy is out dangling greenies over a mangrove branch to entice these ladies.

Gotcha. Rig built for PRS type matches, F class, etc...? Back when I was running USO stuff, I always wanted an optic with the parallax on the right side. Seemed more natural for a right handed guy in the prone.

Yep, I believe the idea came from bench.
Seen it used in F class as well.
Kahles has their parallax on top, bottom of the elevation.
