Sent a message and will call. I do not want a quick fix. I want to know why it is happening and a permeant solution!Have you spoke with or Emailed Ray? He took care of me twice in less than a week both times.
I'm waiting on a build. Action was ordered by the Smith in September and it hasn't shown up yet. I'm guessing this is why.And here am waiting for my brand new Rim-X to hit my FFL…..fudge
If you have the issue, you’ll know it. Bolt will stick on close. Mine is also new. 3500’s as well. This is my first rimfire build so I thought there was some kind of break in period, until it kept happening. Other than that, it has fed and shot flawless so far. Had 4 lots of Tenex yesterday and all shot extremely well thru the PVA barrel. Finally settled on the lot that shot best at 100.Wonder what serial number Zermätt and the current Rimx is on? I recently purchased a new 03580, just working the action in my hand everything seems to be ok.
Time will tell! I’m going to shoot it and cycle it like I’m oblivious………huh what gouging issue?!
Did you grease your lugs at all? I smeared just a little bit on there. May be giving me false hope. I won’t know the rest of the story till later in the week when I get my barrel and actually put it to the test.If you have the issue, you’ll know it. Bolt will stick on close. Have two that are over 3500, one is like 35XX the other is 36XX. The 35XX after the first 10rdsYes very odd that some are gouging and some are not. Hard to pin down exactly which ones until they do it.
Wonder if that’s why Ray hasn’t sounded the horn to replace all from such and such SN and above? Must be thinking we’ll just address the ones that show up bad.
Yeah. Lugs were cleaned and greased prior to use.Did you grease your lugs at all? I smeared just a little bit on there. May be giving me false hope. I won’t know the rest of the story till later in the week when I get my barrel and actually put it to the test.
I wasthat the one I purchased was new old stock.
I wouldn’t have any remorse. Ray has replied to me and the solution is forthcoming! Damn thing shoots lasers. And here am waiting for my brand new Rim-X to hit my FFL…..fudge
Did you purchase it online from a retailer, or RimX? Just wondering b/c mine was ordered in Sept and zero comms from RimX on when/where it is or when it will show up.Wonder what serial number Zermätt and the current Rimx is on? I ordered mine in August from Zermätt, it shipped after shot. FWIWDid you purchase it online from a retailer, or RimX? Just wondering b/c mine was ordered in Sept and zero comms from RimX on when/where it is or when it will show up.

Make sure you clean the action REAL good if you don’t get all the shavings out of the action/lugs it will happen again…ask me how I know this lol…if you have the means I’d suggest you pull the barrel to clean the action.I emailed Zermatt yesterday, they replied today that they will send the replacement fixed parts.
I get being upset that they may have known this was not a fluke, I think that’s a reasonable reaction. At the same time I don’t know what the rate of the problem is or even that cause and I was not overly concerned. I am satisfied with the service so far, as well as the accuracy. Hopefully the service is an indicator of their standards.
Spoke with Ray yesterday - He is a stand up guy! Fix is in the works.
Whats the fix?Spoke with Ray yesterday - He is a stand up guy! Fix is in the works.
Report back after live fire cycling. That’s when I noticed.Just picked up my new Rim X 34XX and put it together with a proof prefit. Cleaned up the action, greased the lugs, and worked the bolt idk maybe 50-60 times. I can already see some bare metal on one of the lugs. We’ll see what happens when I start shooting.
TT special 2 stageReport back after live fire cycling. That’s when I noticed.
Out of curiosity, what trigger are you running?
Exactly my story! Feels ok with the grease on it but I can see the wear/damage to the lugs already. I’m going to shoot it this weekend and see how bad it gets.Just picked up my new Rim X 34XX and put it together with a proof prefit. Other than talking with them, where have they posted or written about the problem? I purchased two action before I knew the problem existed. January 8th when I ordered my action from a shop (a well known shop), i asked if they had seen any issues. They told me they had not and thought someone could be stirring the pot. The above results are what you see. I called the same day I discovered the problem.I’m guessing this isn’t isolated to a single shop anymore? Everyone who’s called has been told the issue is going to be fixed. I’m sure it will btw.
Did every single person really have to call to let them know they had the issue so they could waste time with every single order or did they understand there’s no need to call individually because they acknowledged the issue and confirmed it’s being addressed?
Since when does grease make soft metal harder?Exactly my story! Feels ok with the grease on it but I can see the wear/damage to the lugs already. I’m going to shoot it this weekend and see how bad it gets.
Zermatt told me it was fine to use it how it is until new bolt is available and shipped to me.
I’m a big Rimx fan so the issue doesn’t bitter me towards them, things happen!
Maybe some highly biased people will step up and respond and answer those questions.Other than talking with them, where have they posted or written about the problem? I'm not going tontake it for granted a fix is happening. So, called them up. They apologize for the problem, said they will make it right, (I believe they will). If we don't let them know, they really have no way to qualify how big the problem is.
It sounds like some still have no issues. Which is very weird to me. Why some do and some don't, if it a material issue. Has me wondering.
I was told by Eric, when they get the fix they will more than likely post about in this thread.Maybe some highly biased people will step up and respond and answer those questions.
I was warned to tread carefully for merely asking questions.
The latter.I’m guessing this isn’t isolated to a single shop anymore? Everyone who’s called has been told the issue is going to be fixed. I’m sure it will btw.

Who said grease makes soft metal harder?Since when does grease make soft metal harder?
We know it’s a soft metal issue. I can shape the lugs with a nail file. I think everyone knows at this point. Some of us haven’t had the opportunity to run the action full tilt yet, so maybe we were hoping for the best. Not that big a deal my boy.Anyone asking if they greased the bolt. Same for anyone who asked if they properly cleaned the bolt and action. It’s a soft metal issue, period. A fix is coming which has to be, replace the parts. What else is there?
A fix is coming. No question. How this was handled, that’s another thing. We know it’s a soft metal issue. I can shape the lugs with a nail file. I think everyone knows at this point. Some of us haven’t had the opportunity to run the action full tilt yet, so maybe we were hoping for the best. Not that big a deal my boy.
Fixing the issue is fine, but they’ll need addresses to send the parts to.Did every single person really have to call to let them know they had the issue so they could waste time with every single order or did they understand there’s no need to call individually because they acknowledged the issue and confirmed it’s being addressed?
No one said greasing the lugs is a cure for the problem! But common sense tells me slicking/greasing the lugs is going to make the two metals surfaces slide together better.Anyone asking if they greased the bolt. Same for anyone who asked if they properly cleaned the bolt and action. It’s a soft metal issue, period. A fix is coming which has to be, replace the parts. What else is there?
I just ordered the SAP AMC mag carriers. They are pretty popular and I bought them specifically for my RimX and AICS center fire mags. What belt worn mag pouches fit Rimx mags best?
