Rifle Scopes ACOG reticle change possible?

Re: ACOG reticle change possible? Well after putting it off for a couple weeks, i finally remebered to call Trijicon CS to ask about the cost of doing a reticle change for my TA-11 green donut to green horeshoe... $543...'nuff said, didn't bother to ask about turnaround times or anything else.

Remington 700 SS 5R .223 Barrel Twist Rate?

Re: Remington 700 SS 5R .223 Barrel Twist Rate? I agree, the X-Mark Pro trigger was very mediore. On the pull gauge it measured an average of 4.5lbs which isn't too bad but it broke inconsistnetly carying by half a pound or more between pulls. My gunsmith installed a Timney for around $125...

Pentax DCF 8x32 ED or other small binos?

I am very close to buying a nice pair of smaller binoculars. These will be used for general all purpose viewing. Actually more for travel and vacations. I recently got my parents a pair of decent $150 Pentax DCF LV 9x28 binos so they could ditch their 40 year old porros. I felt they were...

Remington 700 SS 5R .223 Barrel Twist Rate?

Re: Remington 700 SS 5R .223 Barrel Twist Rate? I got my 1,000 rounds of blue box Black Hills 69 grain SMK rounds off Gunbroker for 500 bucks shipped. I tend to be pretty cheap with my ammo purchases but this was one deal I couldn't pass up. The seller actually had 2,000 rounds to sell. I...

Remington 700 SS 5R .223 Barrel Twist Rate?

Re: Remington 700 SS 5R .223 Barrel Twist Rate? Welcome to the forum. I have the same gun. It is 1:9 twist. I use Black Hills 69 grain Sierra Match Kings (SMK) and it is very accurate out to 300 meters, the farthest I can shoot at my range. It is a great gun overall, if not a tad bit on...

    MW3

Re: MW3 Congrats Kasey, I'm loving the Atlas I got recently, and to your continued success. Although I didn't realize something new actually made it into the game. It seems to me like a reboxed MW2.

Re: Black Friday: SWFA SS HD 5-20x50 Non Illuminated Am I missing something? How much are they going to be sold for, or is that not going to be disclosed?

    Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 20x60-80

Re: Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 20x60-80 The original poster seems to be limited in funds. If you aren't as restricted, take a look at the Pentax if you have a chance. I'd be surprised if you did not like it. Generally with spotting scopes, like rifle scopes, there are so many features its...

What are the best barrel cleaning products?

Re: What are the best barrel cleaning products? Is scrubbing with a nylon brush absolutely required? I generally just jag and patch a bunch of times until they come out relatively clean first with Hoppe's #9 for carbon then with their slow working Benchrest formula sometimes leaving it in...

    Scratches on spotting scope

Re: Scratches on spotting scope I had no idea toilet paper can scratch the coatings. I would think the only negative was leaving behind some dust and lint. Must not be using Charmin Ultra, that stuff is really soft. I would probably used it to clean my optics had I not bought a cheap Lenspen.

    Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 20x60-80

Re: Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 20x60-80 I had the liittle brother, the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 12-36x50mm 45 degree which I used for 100 - 300 yards. First off I will say that for the money you get alot of scope. While It was my first spotter as well, I had recreational shooters with lesser...

    Keeping muzzlebrake clean.

Re: Keeping muzzlebrake clean. Cool I have a bottle of hoppes elite somewhere. I'll put some on today and leave it for a while. See if that does the trick.

    Keeping muzzlebrake clean.

I just started using my first muzzlebrake on my .223 Remmy 700. It is a JP Enterprises Ben Cooley standard size model. It has really taken recoil out of the picture, not like there was much to begin with in my 17 pound AICS rig. What i've noticed even after the first outing is how much carbon...

    Barrel thickness between .223 & .308

Re: Barrel thickness between .223 & .308 Awesome, more barrel for the buck

    Barrel thickness between .223 & .308

Would I be correct in assuming that an off the shelf Remington 700 for the same model, many are offered in both .223 or .308 caliber. The smaller caliber would get a relatively thicker barrel just due to the fact the barrel contour is identical between them. The only difference would be the...

AICS fed as a single action?

Re: AICS fed as a single action? I never realized, but is that how single shot rifles work? You can just throw a round into the port then use the bolt to seat the round without having to push the round by hand into the chamber at all? If so that seems pretty cool. I shoot mostly by...

AICS fed as a single action?

Re: AICS fed as a single action? I have the same setup as Smithcollector. You have the plastic mags too right? When shooting single shots i've always put one into the port but slid it slightly forward with my hand so maybe 1/4 of it is in the chamber before moving the bolt forward to lock...

Rifle Scopes Got a NXS and still wanting more.

Re: Got a NXS and still wanting more. For the NF glass, the one thing I don't like about it is the color fringing. You can see a purplish tinge on the borders of high contrast outlines. If they made an HD glass version that would make things quite a bit better. Also at higher magnification...

    See my own rifle shots?!?!

Re: See my own rifle shots?!?! I just shot them at Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Association. They have 300 yard range and I brought my own AR500 swinging metal targets I bought from Big Dog Steel. They're holding up great so far the rounds aren't even making a dent. One of my friends shot...
