So are people really going to just give up on it out of spite, or are they going to buy a different system to tide them over until it is released? And then dump that one on the used market?

I'm nearing that point.

There is a unit that is possibly slated to be released on the market soon. It is a member here and I've seen it work.

I'll let him post the videos and timeline.

Nah, I already have a v3 and IP trickler. I was excited for this new system and wanted to support them because I've been so happy with the trickler. After this much time the excitement wore off. Funds were used on a suppressor.
$1k for no/minimal improvement over my current system is harder to swallow now.

Possibly, only in part of the fact that I actually hate reloading ammo, and my current system (fa intellidroper) if mind numbingly slow. I’ve reloaded for nearly 15 years and I’ll jump at the opportunity to buy something that allows me to stand at the bench less. Once I load develope I like to load nearly 1k at a time and never reload again for months.

The prospect of this doing it as fast as advertised is alluring but this isn’t the only mouse trap out there. The season for me is over with work and holidays kicking in so I’m in no rush but come end of January, it’s go time for me at that point and I’ll either have this system or I wont

If that's your goal I'd be dropping StaBall out of a 750

One of the posts above made me realize that this delay does allow for the competition to swoop in and scoop him. Either by pirating his design or modifying it or by bringing their own. Potentially undercutting him on price also.

On the other hand, the barrier to entry for development testing, and production of one of these is much higher than say, making the next taco stand to compete with Baja fresh Qdoba and chipotle

I bought a couple of IP tricklers then made my own V2.5 with available components from Lee and printed the rest of the components. Emailed Adam at AT and asked what the gear ratio is on the V3 since you can't buy them anymore and he had no issue sending me that info. I can't keep up with the two systems I have now. The only issue I have anymore is the IP spills a lot of powder, but IP is eventually going to sell the cup separately anyway.

The new system will not improve my reloading process significantly, and I can no longer justify $1k each before the scale. I'd have 2 of them if he had released them in a timely manner, but it no longer makes sense for me to jump on this. Half of the system is 3d printed anyway, and ESD PETG exists for a LOT cheaper than what Paul is charging. If I get a wild hair for some quality of life improvements, I'll draw them up in CAD and print my own system.

Price breakdown starting from scratch no scale included:

2x V2.5 - $1,130 or $565 each

2x V3 electronics - $120
2x Lee powder dropper - $50
1/2 KG ESD filament - $50
4x stepper motors - $80
2x power adapters - $40
2x Funnel kit - $30
2x motor cable - $20
Pulleys and other hardware - $20
2x IP Tricklers - $720

IP System: ~$1,000 each

Why is your IP Trickler spilling powder?

The trickler itself doesn't but the powder drops at a high enough velocity to jump out of the cup.
I haven’t experienced mine bouncing a single kernel (Retumbo). But I have the tube extended to just above the cup, and the cup is Area 419, which is fairly deep. It sounds like you need a deeper cup?

I'm using a 419 cup and have the tube as close as I can get it to the top of the cup. I use N135 and Varget mostly

That’s weird, I haven’t experienced anything like that. Paul was using a Dixie cup for a while to keep his new dropper (but not trickler) from bouncing kernels out, but that’s a lot higher velocity drop, and it wasn’t necessary for the trickler phase. Anyway, it might be something worth trying.

I had the same problem with kernels bouncing out of the cup with the IP trickler. I found a brass tube that fit over the end of the down spout and put a bend in it to redirect the kernels towards the side of the A419 cup. That took care of the stray kernels.

That's cool and all, but should add in the cost of the printer as well. It's not like everyone has a 3d printer sitting on shelf. From what I've seen,
a decent one is around 1500.00+. And don't forget all the material loss and assorted mistakes during the learning curve.

The Ender 3 V3 KE. very capable and only mod you need to do is a root and firmware change. $300

Given that Paul has missed multiple projected delivery dates in the past, and given that the last promise was to ship 1k units by the end of Nov, and given that its 22 Nov and nobody has gotten their invoice much less shipment tracking info, it would really behoove him come here and provide a detailed update of current status and plans for completion.

A little communication can go a very long way to soothing riled customer emotions and maintaining good CS relationships. It ain't that hard to do.

Seen on accurate shooter they are saying end of December now.

The obsessing over something that no one has put a single dime down on has been comical for a while (and, sadly, still is kind of) but some of you fuckers need some mental help. I know a few of you are trying to get by with some duct tape and bailing wire rigged BS while you wait but that is YOUR choice.

The thing isn't even done and you retreads are holding it up as the second coming of perfection. I will laugh sooooo hard when something about it pisses you off - just like the ST and others. You line up all bonered up and giggly like little dweebs standing in line for the latest beanie baby release and then snivel to no end when its not perfect.

So he blew past some self imposed goals / dates for getting it done - I don't care. It's not like he's a large manufacturing company with a bunch of help and resources at the ready. I'll get one when it comes around but I'm happy with my ST and backup ATV4 in the meantime - they both work well enough that I'm quite happy with them. They both beat the old chargemaster by miles.

Show me on the stuffed giraffe where Paul hurt you.

I love seeing all the loud mouths here get butt hurt. Like how do you not already have a V2.5 or 3.0 that is probably 85% of the thing that we're all waiting for? What did they? ....just start investing in expensive reloading equipment 2 years ago? 🤣

I'm 99.999% certain people here aren't butthurt as they type, it is SH afterall. However, I think from a business standpoint, it reflects positively to just post a single update on FB/X/IG/TikTok or whatever. It avoids this whole forum thing. Plus it shows future customer service habits...

Additionally, gauging interest based preorders is a weird way to predict scaling. So, in essence, the preorders gave him a number to meet... So not entirely free from the consumer end.

You should publish this novel as a paperback.

If he hasn’t taken your money, you’re not a customer and he doesn’t owe you a damn thing.

Yeah but he still a business who can’t deliver what they promise when they promise. That’s not a viable long term solution.

I find it odd why you fools stand up and defend this guy who has no respect for his customer base.

I’m not a customer. The man can conduct business however he sees fit. I promise he’ll sell every single last unit he makes.
