Same!!Mine are on the way also! Thanks Ray!
A geometry change was made to create more contact between the bolt body and the receiver at the leading edge of the closing cam as well as a material state change to increase durability.@Zermatt Arms
Ray what are the differences with the new bolts as compared to the old bolts? Thicker/wider lugs for more surface contact? Different angle?
Thanks Dave
Thanks Ray.A geometry change was made to create more contact between the bolt body and the receiver at the leading edge of the closing cam as well as a material state change to increase durability.
Thank you - Ray
Looks like a proper, engineering-led response by Zermatt..A geometry change was made to create more contact between the bolt body and the receiver at the leading edge of the closing cam as well as a material state change to increase durability.
Thank you - Ray
Mine looks about the same after ~200 rounds. It's not hard to cycle the action at all however.Would you consider this normal wear? First 150 rounds.View attachment 8629879View attachment 8629880
That’s good to hear! Thanks Ray - Received the new bolts today and changed them all out! All set now!
Can ya’ll please stop posting pics of your shiny new bolts!!
I’m still waiting for a shipping notification.!!![]()
From what I’ve heard/understand correct. So serial numbers under 3k are not affected by this problem? Is that correct?
Very happy with one. Very smooth.Has anyone put the revised bolt to work? Any feedback so far?
Thank you for providing this feedback. Rest assured, we'll get it sorted out.Received my bolt replacement for my Rim-X 17HM2 build from my gunsmith yesterday.
Installed it per Zermatts instructions. I dont have a sonic cleaner that big for a barreled action so I used cleaners and compressed air
The gouging issue is still there
The first few bolt lock downs felt rough then smoothen out. Still hangs up occasionally. Pictures after 50 shots. Im able to use a nail file and scratch it still. Zermatt did not fix the issue. Spoke with Ray a while back, nice fella but not whos in charge. Not happy

Did you pull the barrel and clean the action? If not I bet you did not get all the metal shavings out....I have had this bolt issue with 2 RimX actions and Ray @Zermatt Arms took care of me right away, This was before this blew up like it has and Ray had bolts in stock.Received my bolt replacement for my Rim-X 17HM2 build from my gunsmith yesterday.

Shavings of what exactly?Did you pull the barrel and clean the action? If not I bet you did not get all the metal shavings out....I have had this bolt issue with 2 RimX actions and Ray @Zermatt Arms took care of me right away, This was before this blew up like it has and Ray had bolts in stock.
The first action Ray told me clean it up real good, Grease up the lugs on the new bolt and run it so I did but I did not clean it up good enough(did not pull the barrel to clean the action)and started having issues again right away called Ray and he had me send the action in. I had it back in a few days and ray told me I did not get all the shavings out.
Action number 2 I pulled the barrel and ran a can of Gun scrub and nylon bushed the shit out of it, Greased up the new bolt and both actions have 1500+ rounds through them now and both run smooth.
Nope. I’m going to wait and see what happens first.Have you shot it yet or just get it?
It’s getting shipped out soon. Pic was from Modacam today.Have you shot it yet or just get it?
I had a Vudoo with a 25” Krieger from Johnathan I kinda regret selling it.It’s getting shipped out soon. Pic was from Modacam today.
Everything rimx I had has departed the premises! If I wanna work on sh*t I’ll go to work!
Thanks for the offer Ray. I left the rifle with my gunsmith today as we discussed options. He builds a lot of the F Class rifles for folks in Ben Avery shooting range. Screwing on a prefit shouldn't be to hard for him. It looks like you guys had over a year to fix this problem from the looks of those who brought this up. My gunsmith called a local friend of his that had an older rimx serial 11XX and brought his bolt in today. Confirmed that the problem didn't happen with his bolt, so obviously what ever change was made is the problem. Some of us can read past the bias folk here. This isn't directed towards you, but whom ever decided to cut corners there at Zermatt needs to be fired.Thank you for providing this feedback. Rest assured, we'll get it sorted out.
I'd like to send you a return label for your barreled action to bring it in for inspection to see what else may be going on. We have not seen anything like this at this point, so we want to see what else may be going on in your system.
Please email me - [email protected] - and we'll go from there.
