Yeah, but we would have to see the top to tell for sure if they got rid of that hardware. I imagine they did as I agree that it appears that to bolster sales they gouged out as much cost as possible while retaining main features.
I have two rifles in later versions of the OG JAE and I still love them. They are very rigid.
I did a few things to make it fit a bit better. Got rid of their butt pad (which I did not like at all) and put on a thin Kick-eez and reduced the LOP by almost .75”….haha, I think. Between .5 and .75.
I have Tyler Kemp’s grips on them to move the grip front strap forward and reduce the reach to the trigger shoe. Very important for those of us who never played in the NBA! lol
Newer chassis offerer a wider range of adjustment and it seems rifle shooters have come to understand that you need to make the gun fit the shooter and not the other way around.
The main thing I wish the JAE had was an adjustable butt pad. I don’t care as much about canting the toe out to fit my shoulder pocket as I would a shotgun as I don’t shoot 22 lbs rifles across my body and off-hand. Haha. My butt pad is far inward where that’s not a big issue.
But I would like to adjust the pad vertically. Really, move it up a bit. I can have my buddy grind up some adjustable butt hardware (as we use on skeet guns) but that would eat up my LOP reduction from the thinner pad.
I still really like my JAE. However, in the next few months I’ll have a full up Vision with all the adjustments of new chassis. Even an adjustment up/down for the bag rider. I don’t know that I’ll like it (prob will love it) but I’ll give it a try. I almost feel like I’m cheating on my JAE’s.

It's a capability they need to retain. The m107 is getting phased out in favor of the mk22 with 338 for AM. It and imo the 50 do not have enough room for modern warheads hence the bigger 45 gun vs a 150 or 200 lb 20mm. There will be places and times where you can't call in an airstrike and won't have something like a jav with you.
It's another reason why the army needed the NLOS fires system they refunded years ago. Cheap , portable long range smart missles that can used as indirect fire support. Can be used in places where you can't have an arty battery.

Don’t get me wrong, gigantic rifles are kewl, and military procurement can be fucked, but I guarantee you that shooting guns for actual anti-material is as much bullshit when a global hawk can do X1000 without risking men. The reason for this rifle would be you didn’t have the money for air support or hundreds of missile equipped drones. Maybe on Canada’s defense budget this is the best they can do, but I don’t see it as anything other than a funny-car sniper rifle.

It means if you were to drop something onto this screen and break it, or whatever, you can easily buy a replacement screen off Amazon for not many dollars.

It has the mag adjustment for the fitment of the mag? Only appears to be an adjustment for the barricade stop. Though it looks like it has dowel pins like the ACC Elite.

I ended up getting their Arca mount for my FC4-G2, figured the bipod itself was a sunken cost by then, instead of buying something else. Liked it overall, but really wanted arca for it..which I am new to.
To solve for the 2-in-1 mount dilemma, I bought one for my Atlas bipod instead, off the hide. A RRS-SOAR, which is an impressive piece of mount.
Now the Accu-tac lives on my heavy ass MPA rifle...as an arca-only bipod, and my new Atlas CAL Gen 2 is the dual purpose.
Eventually I might grab a picatinny-only mount as well...to keep on the stuff that wont get an Arca rail, like my oryx chassis Tikka 22..
No matter the issue, the industry finds a way to sell us something
However, Accu-tac would carve out an even larger chunk of the overall bipod market, if other companies started offering mounts compatible for their bipods..

put a different way: since obscuring the lens is not an option, you would think they would have used a different objective design that did not have the reflective nature of the one shown.
I’ve dealt with thermals for coyote and hog hunting (borrowed units for now)
Are you making an assumption here, or do you know for sure it's reflective enough to matter?
That would imply they completely overlooked something that is pretty standard practice to make sure doesn't happen.

These are primarily used at times when there is no light to reflect off the lens.
Alright finally saw the sac press, I dig it. Not sure if I'd dump my co ax for it but if I was starting fresh, I'd probably pick it up. A friend and I was discussing what if they made a turret head for the zero press that allowed the user to switch out dies with their lok ring
