When I was growing up I was good friends with a Greek guy. He was first generation american, his mother and father came from the "old country". His father would have been born right after WWII. The only thing he hated more then germans and italians are commies and turks. This was passed on to all of his kids. He would have been in the US during the cyprus deal, but he had no love for them in any way shape or form. I think being there, with the people that had to deal with....whatever....would tend to color your outlook on a people, and you would relay your feelings down the line. When you get a few generations away from that, like US slavery those stories and accounts are lost to time, and subject to.....lets say revision.
