Well, the schedule is getting real tight. They need a big bang to facilitate their agenda in NA and Western Europe.

Something is happening in Kursk oblast territory, occupied by nazis. In the last 3-4 days, Russians started a counteroffensive, and it looks like they really kicking the shit out of nazis in "without any possibility of parole" manner. This information comes from numerous russian language sources.

doubt it. as a distraction? seems wishful thinking.
BTW,i wonder whether the uke press ganging recruitment will lead to a bunch of fragging,which it should. hapened some in VN,a lot in russia in 1917/18. not something that gets much documented in mil histories. so,hard to know how much it happens. if one is kidnapped into a meat grinder,why not? being untrained,under equipped,incompetent or blood thirsty officers,why not? have been hearing uke POWs are not abused by russ. of course zelinsky would use threat of family retaliation to control that.

Not so much of a distraction as a dilemma. With the purpose of disrupting or degrading Russian efforts to concentrate combat power in the South.

i saw that the ukes used their best remaining forces. at the point of attack they faced mostly police,border guards and maybe rebuilding units. i think they created a salient but no dangerous penetration. they didn't have the force for a sustained offensive. basically created a salient that set those units up for being chopped off and surrounded/destroyed. like said,internet so who knows for sure. didn't seem to be a huge disruption.
seems to me that putin is still playing a long game. saving resources to continue to intimidate nato? moving slowly to consolidate gains?
keeping an eye on russ public opinion,which is a smaller issue in russia than other places? an end game that will make future defeat of his forces

The intended effects of the Kursk were unobtainable outcomes dreamt up by politicians rather than any solid military gains, the best case scenario was to buy the east more time.
We see a few things in action, first Ukraine overran poorly trained and equipped troops that were unprepared and also caught Russian reinforcements traveling in column on the road behind the front line. Not great for Russia but apart from the first couple days there really hasn't been much Ukraine propaganda coming from Kursk so that'd suggest that they are not achieving the same level of success, ie the Russians are acting competently enough.
Secondly, in order to make rapid gains Ukraine decided to move by the limited road network by day and while this worked at the start, Russia has been making the most of it since at least the third day of the offensive if not the second. Ukraine has lost valuable artillery/HIMARS and air defence systems bringing them up to the front to cover their ground forces.
Another part of that was the heavy use of DRG/saboteur units (basically four dudes in a car, possibly multiple cars) to spread confusion and set up ambushes (we seen similar uses in Kherson and Lyman offensives), however in this case Russia responded in kind and we saw widespread small scale skirmishing and ambushing that looks to have favoured the Russians as they didn't have the initial forces that Ukraine did and such fights limited the fire-power/man power advantage of the Ukrainians.
Thirdly, the Ukrainian creation of a Kampfgruppe, Ukraine stripped multiple brigades of units and equipment to form the force they needed for the offensive, this is not a positive development and came about due to a lack of trained personal and equipment, some of the units in Kursk were taken straight from the Donbas region without time to rest and sent to open a new front. We also know that Ukraine has sent most of it's experienced drone operators to Kursk leaving other regions without support.
In order to stabilise the front at Pokrovsk Ukraine has pulled units from other parts of the eastern front which is now losing ground to Russia, they need to shorten their line and somehow rotate troops off the line, at this point Ukraine needs a ceasefire to reorganise and train/integrate troops.
What this means for Russia? Not a great deal to be honest, they want to pin/destroy Ukrainian combat formations and which side of the boarder that happens on is irrelevant. Now that those forces are engaged they will not be able to break contact as Russia can simply push into northern Ukraine behind them to keep them from being deployed elsewhere while at the same time benefiting from shortened delivery time from things like FABs.
Out of curiosity.....wonder what naval assets are in the Red Sea/Med at the moment? If Russia retaliates via the houthi's they might be about to have a bad time.....
The hootees can pop a tanker /container ship once and a while but they also know the US navy is in the area and the launch sites will get hammered . When trump gets in i think our policy will change or at least i hope so . The uke would be foolish to use those missiles on russian soil the payback on kiev would be horrific .
I saw a video yesterday from the Military Summary Channel guy on Youtube of what looked like an Iskander strike what he said was a Ukrainian brigade headquarters in the Kursk area. They found it via electronic warfare by tracking drone operators, and supposedly knocked a big dent Ukraine's drone operator numbers in the area.

Crimea, used to be heavily populated by Turkish Tartars. Towards the end of WW2 the Soviets deported around 150,000 of them to Uzbekistan, many dying in the process. Armenia should buy a bunch of drones and threaten to hit Azeri pipelines in 50 different spots since the Azeri's are a primary supplier of Israeli oil and gas and Israel and Turkey recently just aided in the Ethnic Cleansing of 120,000 Armenians in 2020.
This would hold off the Turks and Azeri's from completely sacking Yerevan-Sarajevo/Mariupol style.
